Careers In Asia

Asia covers a vast geographical area that embraces a dizzying array of cultures, races and religions. There are many opportunities within the range of travel, hotel and aviation jobs in Asia that would offer varying experiences.Your working experience in Asia could could mean being stationed in a fast-paced and modern city such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul or Tokyo; or you could find yourself on an idyllic resort atop a private atoll in the Maldives or conducting guided tours at an UNESCO World Heritage site. Whatever your background and experience level, there is almost no end to the number of exciting job possibilities available in Asia.

If you are fortunate enough to have secured a position within an Asian corporation or if your company is relocating you to a particular Asian city, then your company will probably be handling your work visa or working permit for you. Be sure to familiarise yourself with the local laws and regulations and prepare the documents that you will need before you set off.

To minimise culture shock, find out as much as possible about your destination. Speak to friends, fellow colleagues or do some research on the Internet.  Be aware of local values, customs and practices. Once you start work at your new organisation, keep an open mind and observe what others do.
